Consumer and workforce satisfaction reaches new highs

The 2008 National Survey of Consumer and Workforce Satisfaction in Nursing Homes encompasses the largest dataset of resident, family and employee satisfaction metrics ever published by My InnerView.

The report shows:
  • Nursing home satisfaction has reached its highest level since the report was first published in 2005, while workforce satisfaction is at its highest level since the initial employee report in 2006.
  • Increases in survey participation have driven the size of My InnerView's database to an all-time high. The 2008 National Report encompasses data from one in three facilities in the United States. Responses from 223,449 employees, 54,711 residents and 146,949 family members in 5,075 nursing facilities across the United States are included in the study.
  • Family satisfaction mirrors resident satisfaction -- family satisfaction tends to be higher in facilities where resident satisfaction is higher, and lower where resident satisfaction is lower.
  • Providers that monitor both consumer and employee satisfaction saw greater improvements in global consumer satisfaction in 2008 than providers that monitor only consumer satisfaction.
