Onsite presentation brings data to life
- I wanted to take this opportunity to express how much of an asset Mary Tellis-Nayak (My InnerView Vice President Quality Initiatives) is to the satisfaction survey process within Sun Healthcare Group. Her knowledge, insight and ability to effectively communicate the information are invaluable.
Mary first presented the results to one of our divisions. She completely captivated the entire group. She has an ability to bring the data to life and make it a little less complex and overwhelming. In turn, the audience is able to start forming a strategy to begin addressing how best to respond within their respective areas. You could see the "aha" moments throughout the room.
This year, we requested to have Mary present SunDance's results to the management team. She did so at the SunDance senior management meeting and, as expected, she was able to capture the full attention of the group. All were fully engaged and you could again see the "aha" moments. I am fully confident that SunDance will have a much more robust strategy and plan around this information.

Building A Collaborative Relationship
- When we embarked on the Quality First path, we knew we would have to partner with other organizations to establish a collaborative, quality-oriented research strategy. With My InnerView, we not only found a system that would allow us to benchmark and analyze our quality processes, we also found a management team that was aligned with promoting quality within our industry.
Working with Neil Gulsvig, and his entire management staff, we feel that we have been able to influence the process and partner to meet our common goals. Even though we are still in the early stages of rolling out My InnerView throughout our entire organization, we are looking forward to the next months when we can really utilize the analysis tools provided. My InnerView has showcased professionalism and value-add through the entire process, and we are very pleased with our relationship with them.

Going Beyond Clinical Outcomes
- There are two reasons no other quality management system compares to My InnerView. First, they take a multi-dimensional approach to measuring quality, going far beyond just clinical outcomes. Second, they show you where to go with the data once you have it—with a training tools and support that are tightly focused on key indicators. Our organization has been able to demonstrate improvement in key areas using the My InnerView tools and services.

Restoring Public Confidence
- Building the confidence and support of policy makers and other key stakeholders will require definitive proof that we have made progress on the expected outcomes of Quality First. Embedded in the Covenant is the promise to achieve six specific expected outcomes by 2006. If we can’t show we have met our own goals, we will face the continuing cycle of negative news stories, public frustration, increased regulation, and lagging reimbursements. We need My InnerView to show that we keep our promises!

Unprecedented Data, Unprecedented Results
- Unprecedented data leads to unprecedented results. The implications of Dr. Grant’s research are profound. Essentially he proves that quality care is much more than the one-dimensional regulatory picture we have been presented with in the past. According to this refreshing new view, core organizational systems such as leadership, information systems, human resources, clinical systems, operations, and environmental design all act in concert to drive excellence.

Proving Quality First Works
- Quality First is not a project for a month or a year. It is a permanent pledge to make long term care in Kentucky the best that it can be—every day in every way—for years to come. And now with My InnerView™, we’ll have proof of our success.

Proactive Vs. Reactive Risk Management
- We share a core philosophy with My InnerView that is based on helping LTC management assess performance and make adjustments before problems occur. This proactive philosophy is 180 degrees different than the reactive and punitive environment that is the norm in the LTC and insurance industry. With My InnerView, we feel we can assess how a facility is doingright now rather than three months to a year in the past.

Positive News About Long-Term Care
- This information from My InnerView is a breath of fresh air for everyone in this state concerned about the quality of care we provide to the elderly. Too often the discussion we hear in long-term care is negative when clearly a majority of this very important constituency is really very positive about the care provided to their loved one. Certainly there is always room for improvement, but I think providers in this state can be quite proud of this high level of overall satisfaction.
